Gael Garcia Bernal fans know that he’s never been one to shy away from political causes. He famously starred in the anti-Pinochet film No and now, he has spoken out on the behalf of Syrian refugees.
Bernal is currently in Jordan filming Jon Stewart’s Rosewater movie. And while touring regions of the country, he discovered some appalling living conditions for the displaced Syrians.
“Aid is essential for these people,” he said. “What we’re giving is still not enough. We need to rally the international community.”
Gael went on to say that thousands of refugees are dying every day and action needs to be taken immediately. We certainly understand his plight and are hopeful that his celebrity status can bring more international attention to the issue.
